22nd. November, 2008 - 23rd. November, 2008.
Trip to Edinburgh with the Brunei Newcastle Society (BNS) and Singapore Society! We reached at the SU before 8 for headcount and Depart at 9am (mati awal headcount nya! sajuk lagitu snowing). There was a choice for members to visit the Edinburgh Castle and the ghost tour. However, we (Jajah, Nadz, Sharon and I) did not go to any of those optional tours!
We arrived at our accomodation -Cowgate Tourist Hostel (excellent services - the frontdesk was v.helpfull)- around 1:15pm, I immediately called for a cab to drive us to 'Edinburgh Zoo'. I did not want to miss the 'Penguin Parade' which starts daily at 2:15pm. It took us around 15 minutes to the zoo by taxi and the entrance cost 9quid for students. The zoo cover a huge area filled with animals from around the world. Some of which I had never seen in my whole life after visiting zoos in Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Perth. There were sumatran tigers, koalas, kangaroos, rhinoceros, tapir, 'The Magical Forest', camels, penguins, polar bears and many more!! The view from the hilltop over to the city was amazing! We fed the 'Rainbow birds' on our way back down to the exit.
For dinner we had shish kebab (THANK YOU SOO MUCH BOB) and head off for chocolate soup. MANISSSSSS!! Bebz Eda, Nadia Halim and the four of us were in the same room with 3 double beds. It was snowing that night in Edinburgh. Macam camping rasanya ganya bising by the drunkers downstairs. Played poker with the guys and Qayuum bought a kilt! Next morning, we went to the Edinburgh Dungeon. We used the 2 for 1 voucher from the hostel . The experience was educational and scary! After that we had Harry Ramdens fish n chips and seafood on cream sauce! It was all worth it!
