The Angel of the North

Assalamualaikum

We went to the Angel of the North organised by BNS last Saturday. The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture designed by Antony Gormley. Located in Gateshead. Took about 30 minutes by public bus ride from the city. It is a steel sculpture standing 66 feet tall. It has wings measured 178 feet across. It is the landmark for the North East of England.

Sempena Hari Kebangsaan yg ke-25 (Jubli Perak) hari Isnin ani, kami bawa bendera Brunei Darussalam ke sana. We also sang the National anthem of Brunei.

Buns Mood!

My friend from Norway gave me her home-made cinnamon buns! Today I baked my own BUNS!!




I made Cinnamon buns, Orange marmalade buns, Peanut buns and Peanut + Cinammon buns!

Small gathering

Last Saturday was awesome! We had a small get together party at our place. We dressed up for the night just for fun. BA and Bob were the two (unwise) judges (Adakah c Jam manang?!! haha. sorry Jam =p Jk. Memang patut pun Jam manang.) who sponsored the prices for best dress. Each of us contributed 3 pounds for the food. The night before, we made some preparation. Thanks to Jam, Ummi, BA ,Bob and Farid for coming over.

I was kidding when I said the judges are unwise, they are actually wise! They gave Millies's cookies as consolation price for those who didn't win. Thank you BA. Thank you Bob! =D

We had sing-along, singstar and sesi membalas pantun later that night.

Paella

Salam everyone, 

Hola! We missed eating Paella, the famous rice in Spain.  Mimah found Paella pan during her trip to Stafford and brought it to Newcastle. After so many weeks, we finally had Paella last friday. Actually we wanted to make black paella but unfortunately squid is now out of the season and this means no fresh squid thus no squid ink. So we made original paella. Bought the main ingredients from Tesco and the rest from Tsang,  shared among 5.  It took us abt 3 hours to prepare! Very long time but worth it.

Heavy snow

It was snowing heavily again in Newcastle.  We went to Leazes Park and Nunsmoor Park to play n take pictures.  Enjoy~

CNY Celebration

Salam all,

Today I went to China town to witness the Chinese New Year celebrations here in Newcastle with friends from INTI.  Dragon dance as an opening followed by Unicorn dance, Lion dance and Fire crackers.  Regardless the coldness, the weather was so fine compared to yesterday.  It was unpleasant yesterday but today it was sunny the whole day!
